Skills: Web Design, Web Development, Content Management, Content Migration
Web Development. Rob’s past experience with WordPress was invaluable in the development of a bespoke Miller Systems theme and innumerable custom components to align the new site’s aesthetic and content reuse with the original.
Content Management. The Miller Systems redesign involved not one but two content management systems (CMS). The initial redesign occurred in the OpenText/RedDot environment, which required Rob to create new page layouts and modules as well as repurpose existing ones. The new Miller Systems blog, however, was build to match as a WordPress site, for its superior blogging capabilities. Ultimately, the main Miller Systems website was transitioned to WordPress as well.
Content Migration. Populating the new website was a two-front approach involving automated tools for well-formatted content from the original site (such as news releases) and manual migration for the variety unique pages. Rob implemented the thorough and precise migration of hundreds of pages of content from the original content management system to the new one.
